A Showcase of Sustainable Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
We are thrilled to showcase the newly renovated Ritchies Balnarring store in Victoria. This renovation marks a significant milestone, not just for Ritchies but also for Baker Refrigeration as we had the privilege of completing the entire refrigeration and air conditioning installation for this incredible project.
Ritchies were able to continue trading throughout the renovation, ensuring that the community had continuous access to the products they needed.
A Commitment to Sustainability
Ritchies has long been known for its dedication to sustainability, encapsulated in their “Where the Environment Matters” theme. In line with this commitment, the store has installed energy-efficient refrigeration cases featuring glass doors or night blinds to minimize energy consumption and reduce its carbon footprint.
The transformation of the store from an R404A refrigerant system to a cutting-edge Transcritical CO₂ system enhances its energy efficiency while supporting Ritchies’ commitment to environmental responsibility.
The refrigeration and air conditioning systems installed were designed with sustainability and efficiency in mind. The plant, powered by the Epta Transcritical CO₂ ETE System (Extreme Temperature Efficiency), reduces energy consumption even further in high ambient temperatures. The 32 kW LT, 159 kW MT, and 150 kW HT (AC) capacity systems are equipped with a unique rivet design to reduce vibration and noise, utilizing anti-vibration dampers.

- Enixe Deli: A serve-over deli counter, ideal for showcasing fresh deli goods.
- Skyspace: A semi-vertical glass door chilled display cabinet, perfect for dairy, fruit & vegetables, ready-to-go meals, and sandwiches.
- Skyshine: A remote semi-vertical display cabinet designed for frozen food products.
- Skylight: A vertical glass door freezer featuring full-height glass doors, LED lighting, and soft-closing doors.
The Showcase
Working closely with the Ritchies team, we imported the Aichinger Airmaxx 150 Custom Rotating Seafood Case—a market-first, round refrigerated display case with air circulation, designed to captivate customers.
Our team in South Australia also manufactured a custom-made Sushi Case and Dry Aged Meat display case, while sourcing the Tecfrigo Karina Frozen ‘Brunetti’ Cake Display to enhance the store’s product presentation.
Featured Product: Bonnet Névé Rock ECO
Among the equipment installed, the Rock ECO chiller stands out as a high-performance, energy-efficient solution. This chiller series is designed to maximize Total Display Area (TDA), reduce Total Energy Consumption (TEC), and improve the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI).
Perfect for modern supermarkets, the Rock ECO range enhances product displays while lowering energy costs. It is ideal for meat, chicken, small goods, cheese, dairy, fruit, and vegetables.
