106 Years of Family, Loyalty and Refrigeration
Following National Family Business Day, we were proud to reflect on more than a century of AJ Baker & Sons.
Established in 1920, AJ Baker & Sons remains a fourth-generation Australian family business, operating nationally across commercial refrigeration, air conditioning and foodservice equipment.
What stood out after sharing our story was the response from customers, suppliers, industry colleagues and friends of the business.
Several people commented on the longevity of the company, describing 106 years in business as an increasingly rare achievement. Others highlighted something equally important: the loyalty of our people.
One comment came from someone whose close friend has worked with Baker Refrigeration for more than 10 years and remains proud to be part of the team. Another shared a similar story about a long-serving employee.
The Baker family has guided the business through four generations, but the wider Baker family includes the people who turn up each day across our branches, workshops, offices, service teams and project sites around Australia.
Many of those employees have built long careers with the company, sharing their knowledge with younger team members and helping maintain the standards our customers have relied on for decades.
Family Business Association also recognised the milestone, congratulating AJ Baker & Sons on 106 years in business and describing it as an incredible legacy.
We are grateful to everyone who took the time to comment, congratulate the team and share their own connection with Baker Refrigeration. After 106 years, our business continues to evolve, but the importance of people, relationships and long-term commitment remains unchanged.
