2026 City to Bay for HeartKids
Update
The 2026 City to Bay was a great success for the Baker Refrigeration Adelaide team, with staff coming together on Sunday, 20 September to take part in the event and support HeartKids.
The team enjoyed beautiful sunny weather, a strong turnout and a great atmosphere throughout the day. The Baker shirts looked fantastic, the marquee provided a welcome base for the team, and Graham Bayne’s kilt also made its much-anticipated appearance.
A special thank you goes to Arthur from Drakes, who generously supplied much of the food and drinks and also helped cook the BBQ after the event.
Thank you to everyone who participated, donated and supported the team. We’re proud to support HeartKids and the important work they do for children and families affected by childhood heart disease.
On Sunday, 20 September, members of our Adelaide team will be joining thousands of participants for the 2026 City to Bay Fun Run, one of South Australia’s best-known community events.
Participation has grown strongly in 2026, with 14 team members already registered!
This year, the team is also using the event to raise funds for HeartKids, an organisation supporting children and families affected by childhood heart disease.
Chasing a $5,000 fundraising target
While the official fundraising goal is $2,500, the real challenge is to reach $5,000 for HeartKids before race day.
There is also some extra motivation behind that target.
If the team reaches $5,000, SA State Manager Graham Bayne has agreed to complete the City to Bay wearing a kilt.
Whether you are supporting HeartKids, cheering on the AJ Baker team, or simply keen to see Graham take on the course in a kilt, every donation will help move the team closer to the goal.
About the City to Bay
The City to Bay is held annually in Adelaide and attracts participants across a range of distances, with runners and walkers making their way towards the finish at Glenelg.
For the AJ Baker Adelaide team, the event is an opportunity to come together outside of work, support a worthwhile cause and hopefully have a bit of fun along the way.
