Celebrating WA’s HVAC&R Apprentices

Our WA team was pleased to attend the AIRAH WA Member and Apprentice Awards Luncheon at Optus Stadium today, celebrating the apprentices, industry professionals and leaders helping shape the future of HVAC&R in Western Australia.

Our apprentices enjoyed the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day, catch up with their lecturers and celebrate with peers from across the industry. The annual luncheon is always a great chance to see apprentices thrive in a more formal setting while celebrating the achievements of their fellow apprentices.

Special guest speaker Jeremy McGovern from the West Coast Eagles also shared some valuable lessons around motivation, teamwork and maintaining high standards.

One of his key messages for businesses was to encourage apprentices and employees to understand their reason for coming to work and what motivates them. He also spoke about the importance of motivating teams and holding people to the standards a business sets.

“Your business is only as good as your team.”

The afternoon also delivered a very unexpected and proud moment for Baker Refrigeration, with Mike Baker receiving the AIRAH WA Technical Leadership Award for 2026.

Congratulations to Mike, all of the award recipients and the apprentices recognised on the day, and thank you to AIRAH WA for another valuable industry event.
