Trade Skills Olympics 2024 – Nicholas Telford, Victoria
We are super proud to share that Nicholas Telford – our second-year apprentice in Victoria is on the path to success in the WorldSkills Contest. Competitions take place around Australia with over 4,000 apprentices, trainees and students competing.
In Victoria Six apprentices from the Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration course at Box Hill Institute completed the challenge that included piping, welding, pressure testing, evacuation, charging, wiring and commissioning a refrigeration systems.
Nicholas told the team from the HVAC&R News that “I’m here to test myself and put my best foot forward. The competition is tough but if I don’t win, I will have had a great experience, plus it is good practice for the field”
The regional winners will be announced in the coming months and they will go on the represent Victoria at the WordSkills National Competition in Brisbane in July 2025
