Your Refrigeration and Bad Weather

When bad weather occurs our teams will be available to support you, however technicians can only attend site where it is deemed safe to do so.

To help reduce risk and help protect your store, we recommend the following:

Before the weather arrives

• Check refrigeration temperatures are set correctly and holding
• Minimise stock levels where possible (especially high-risk perishables)
• Ensure doors and night blinds are working properly
• Clear drains and check for any existing water build-up risks
• Closer to the event, if it occurs, move stock off the floor in back-of-house areas where flooding could occur

If power outages occur

• Keep cabinet doors closed as much as possible
• Do not restock during outages
• Use thermometers/data logs to monitor temperature rise
• Prioritise high-value or high-risk stock if relocation is needed

General precautions

• Check backup power (if available) is operational
• Secure outdoor equipment and plant areas
