ALDI Tweed Mall (NSW)
More than 250 customers patiently waited for the new ALDI Tweed Mall (NSW) to open its doors at 8.30 am on the recent grand opening morning.
This was a large project which involved a complete refrigeration fit-out. We lifted the plant equipment on to the roof, a unique dome-like structure and made for an interesting project.
The store features a modern look with redesigned shelving, expanded wooden produce bays, LED lighting and improved point-of-sale displays and store signage. AJ Baker supplies ALDI Stores Australia with energy-efficient chest and top freezers which utilise HC refrigerants and VSD compressor control. The main refrigeration plant operates with an EPTA Cascade Pack utilising CO₂ R744 (GWP=1) and R134a (for the medium temperature display cases).
Other energy saving initiatives within the plant design are electronic expansion valves, variable speed drives on the condenser fans and capacity control for the lead compressors. The store manager can monitor the case temperatures and plant operation via a centralised CAREL Boss control panel.
