Baker Refrigeration (officially AJ Baker & Sons) is a fourth-generation, family-owned Australian company specialising in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of commercial refrigeration, HVAC and food service equipment.
Founded in 1920, Baker Refrigeration has grown into one of Australia’s most trusted names in supermarket and commercial refrigeration, servicing retailers across the country, from independent grocers and major supermarket chains to liquor stores to food service venues.

Our company is overseen by the Chairman of Directors, Peter Baker and Managing Director, Mike Baker. Company Directors, Brendan Krummel and Claus Mecklinger are also in the leadership team and provide continuity of our successful family philosophy for now and well into the future.

We offer custom-built and imported compressor rack systems, tailored to client specifications and built for the demands of modern retail environments. In addition, our team designs and constructs specialised air conditioning and air handling systems for retail applications, enhancing climate control and in-store comfort.
Our in-house drafting team utilises the latest equipment to produce accurate drawings for every stage – from initial concept to installation-ready documentation. Known for their precision and responsiveness, the team is committed to delivering best-in-class refrigeration and air conditioning layouts.
Looking ahead, we’re actively investing in next-generation tools, enabling clients to fully visualise their store layouts and equipment integration before construction begins.
