Dan Murphy’s – Perth Airport WA

The newest Dan Murphy’s at Perth Airport — the 280th store nationwide and the 28th in Western Australia for the Endeavour Group — introduces more than just a wide selection of liquor. It represents a leap forward in refrigeration design, functionality and sustainability.

As the first Dan Murphy’s store in Australia to operate on a transcritical CO₂ refrigeration system, it sets a new benchmark for energy-efficient bottle shop operations. Our friends at Epta supplied the refrigerated display cabinets and Baker Refrigeration delivered the rest, from planning and design through to installation, commissioning and ongoing service.

Display Meets Performance: Epta Rock Eco Cabinets

You’ll find a range of Epta Rock L Eco EUD glass door cabinets through the store, designed for high-volume liquor retail, these units combine energy efficiency with clean lines and exceptional visibility.

Features include:

  • Glass Door Presentation
Full-height glass doors maximise product visibility while ensuring stable temperatures for wines, beers and chilled drinks.
  • Energy-Efficient Design
Built-in LED lighting and thermal insulation reduce energy use while maintaining consistent cooling performance.
  • Modular Flexibility
Available in 3.75m and 2.5m lengths, the cabinets offer flexibility for category-specific merchandising from white wine to RTDs.

Compact Power: Transcritical CO₂

Behind the scenes, two Epta ECO2Mini 4PTE-7K transcritical CO₂ racks deliver powerful cooling performance utilising the natural refrigerant (R744). New to the Australian market, these compact rooftop units were installed by our team as part of a tailored solution for liquor retail environments.

Why smaller CO₂ systems are ideal for stores like this:

  • Space-Saving Design
Each ECO2Mini unit measures just 1920mm x 860mm and weighs 695kg — ideal for rooftop installation in sites with limited plant space.
  • Low-Impact Installation
The compact format reduces the need for long pipe runs or major structural works, simplifying installation and minimising disruption.
  • Environmentally Future-Proof
CO₂ (R744) has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of just 1. It offers reliable performance in Australian climates and aligns with long-term refrigerant phase-down targets.

End-to-End Project Execution from Baker Refrigeration

As project integrator, the Perth Baker Refrigeration team managed all refrigeration elements outside the cabinets, including system supply, pipework, drafting, control systems and installation. Our team ensured that every detail was coordinated and commissioned for performance, reliability and compliance with refrigerant regulations.

With decades of experience delivering full-scope refrigeration solutions for retailers across Australia, we’ll continue to support Dan Murphy’s Perth Airport with ongoing service and maintenance.
