Gold at the Regional Level
Like the Winter Sports on right now, it all starts with regional competition and Amitie has taken gold.
Amitie was the only female competitor in her category – Electrical Installation – and we’re proud of both her result and the professionalism she brings to her work every day with us at our South Australian Branch.
Amitie was selected to represent South Australia at the regional competition held at PEER Training, where she is currently employed. Competing last Friday, Amitie placed first overall!
She will now progress to the National finals in Adelaide next year, representing South Australia on the national stage.
This event also marks the launch of the WorldSkills Australia 2026 Regional Competitions. Running from February to October where more than 7,000 apprentices, trainees and students will compete across 60+ skills nationwide.
Regional competitions are the first step toward the 2027 WorldSkills Australia National Championships which will be held in Adelaide, with top performers eligible for selection into the Skillaroo Training Squad.
WorldSkills competitions are designed by industry experts and assess technical ability, practical competence and employability skills against strict national benchmarks.
