WA Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Awards Night
On Friday 5 November 2021 AJ Baker & Sons attended the WA Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Awards a night to honour and celebrate the amazing work by apprentices in the industry.
The awards night covered winners for both 2019 and 2020 due to the event being cancelled in 2020. Around 300 guests enjoyed an amazing 3 course meal with their peers in between the award announcements by MC Fie Cooper.
The event was held at the Westin Perth on the corner of Hay and Irwin Street, the original location of the very first AJ Baker & Sons showroom.
We are incredibly proud to announce that our apprentice, Dennis Issakov won the Pre-apprentice of the Year Award for 2019. Dennis started with us in 2019 and is a wonderfully enthusiastic apprentice who we are looking forward to continuing to support in his chosen career path.
AJ Baker & Sons won the Trainer of the Year Award, Mike and Peter Baker accepted the award on the night and highlighted the importance of businesses supporting apprentices, who are the future of our industry.
The AJ Baker & Sons Award was presented to Shannon Lucassen for Best Performance in the Second Year of Apprentice Studies (2019) and to Abdul Karim Abdulsalam for Best Performance in the Second Year of Apprentice Studies (2020).
The awards were hosted by: The Air Conditioning & Mechanical Contractors Association of Australia (AMCA Australia), the Alan Robert Memorial Fund, the Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating (AIRAH) and South Metropolitan TAFE.
